How to use "Hung up" in English

"Hung up" can have a few different meanings in English:

1. Ending a phone call:

  • "He hung up on me." (He abruptly ended the phone call with me.)
  • "I accidentally hung up." (I ended the phone call by mistake.)

2. Obsessed or preoccupied:

  • "She's still hung up on her ex-boyfriend." (She is still emotionally attached to her former boyfriend.)
  • "Don't get hung up on the details." (Don't worry too much about the minor points.)

3. Delayed or stuck:

  • "I got hung up in traffic." (I was delayed because of heavy traffic.)
  • "The project is hung up on a few technical issues." (The project is stalled due to some technical problems.)

I hope this helps!
