"So far"

"So far" is an adverb that means "up to this point" or "until now." It's used to describe something that has happened or been the case during a particular period that is not yet finished.

Here's how you can use "so far" in English:

1. With the present perfect tense:

  • "So far, I have finished two chapters of the book."
  • "We have not encountered any problems so far."
  • "How has your day been so far?"

2. To describe progress:

  • "The project is going well so far."
  • "We have raised $10,000 for charity so far."
  • "I've learned a lot about cooking so far."

3. To express a limited extent:

  • "My knowledge of French only goes so far."
  • "Their patience only goes so far."

4. In the phrase "so far so good":

This phrase is used to say that everything is going well up to the present time.

  • "How's the move going?" "So far so good!"

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
